The dream of a comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation center for children with disabilities was the vision of Mrs. Kim Simplis Barrow, wife of the former Prime Minister of Belize. In 2008, Mrs. Barrow recognized the need for services and advocacy for children living in Belize with disabilities. In 2012 and 2013 through her office the Special Envoy for Women and Children, Inspiration Telethons were held to raise funds for the construction of the Inspiration Center. Other local and international fundraising efforts raised additional funds. The Inspiration Center was launched on March 27, 2014 and staff began seeing clients on April 14, 2014.

Today, after over 8 years, The Inspiration Center continues to provide quality services to Belize’s pediatric population.
